The Joys of Spring

Spring is my favorite season. I love the new warmth of the sunshine coupled with the lingering cool breezes of winter. The nights that are cool enough for a cute cardi but warm enough for leaving the windows open and listening to the sounds of the first ships of the cruise season entering the harbour. But most of all I love all the flowers springing into bloom all around me. The tulips, daffodils, bluebells, ranunculus, cherry blossoms daisies, jasmine, lavender, hyacinth, lily of the valley, everlasting daisy, poppies, anemone, flannel flowers, wisteria ... I could go on all day! And I have a particular love of photographing flowers. Here are some of my favourite captures...

Isla's Party

What an adorable but cheeky little munch-kin little Isla is! We had such a fun time at her first birthday party a few weeks back and I had even more fun editing a tonne of the snaps I took for her Mummy and Daddy!

Polly

I just can't express how much joy I get out of taking photos of little precious lovelies. I'm practicing and practicing in the hope that I can truly capture how beautiful they all are!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting my friend Hannah, her partner Anton and their new baby Polly! I took a few snaps and thought it was about time I shared them. I'm looking forward to seeing Polly again next week as she is now 6 weeks old and has probably changed so much since I last saw her!!

Finally a Graduate

It's been a long time since my last post but nowhere near as long as this event has been in the making!

Well, it was 7 1/2 years in the making... I took my time, but this Tuesday I finally graduated from a double Bachelors degree in Science & Arts with First Class Honours. I can't believe it is over! I wouldn't and couldn't have done it without the guidance and gentle pressure of my ever-loving family, the constant support from my wonderful husband and the helping hand of my God. This is your degree too!!

Generally, the expected emotion at a graduation celebration is that of excitement and anticipation. Mine however, was relief. So much has happened in my life since I started my university degree back in 2003 and life along the way hasn't always been easy - but then it's not supposed to be is it? It's been a pretty long hard struggle with a lot of stress and sadness but with many pockets of extreme joy along the way (such as various family milestones, our wedding in 2008 and first anniversary in 2009, and the births of niece Yasmine Abigail and nephew/cousin Charlie Zane in April this year) all of which have kept me going. I hope and pray that the next seven and a half years are full of even half as many joyful events as these!
